I Am So Done

Those were the words of every morning.

“I am so done” in regards to my drinking.

Every morning, I would repeat these words as if they were a mantra.

By the end of the day, I couldn’t understand why I kept going back to the bottle.

Even while drinking, I felt the disappointment set in.

“Here I go again”.

This cycle ensued for years.

Why do we do this to ourselves?

It is simply because of our subconscious patterning.

The brain loves to do the same thing – over and over.

It gets good at it and that becomes who we are.

If you look at your life as a whole, you will see patterns everywhere.

To shift this programming takes conscious effort.  Yes, it takes work.

As Carlos Castaneda said, “We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong.  The amount of work is the same.”

You can do the work to get results that serve you or do the work to get results that don’t serve your life.

And I agree.  The amount of work is the same.
